The proper care of your hairpiece will keep it looking new. Most people find
it best to have a backup hairpiece to use while allowing the proper time
for cleaning and drying your hairpiece.
- Use a shampoo specifically formulated for synthetic hair, such as Beautytrends Herbal Shampoo.
In a sink or basin, mix a capful of wig shampoo in cold water and immerse your hairpiece. Let soak
for five minutes. Agitate gently and rinse the hairpiece in cold water until all shampoo is removed.
- Refill the sink or basin with clean cool water and add a tablespoonful of wig conditioner for synthetic
hair, such as Beautytrends Herbal Conditioner. Immerse wig or hairpiece and agitate gently. DO NOT RINSE
OUT CONDITIONER. Remove the hairpiece or wig and gently comb through any tangles. Blot dry in a towel
and then gently shake.
- Replace hairnet and allow hairpiece to dry on a wig stand or on top of a hairspray canister.
Comb add-ons can be hung on a clothes line or hanger, with the combs locked together. DO NOT BRUSH OR COMB
THE HAIRPIECE UNTIL IT IS COMPLETELY DRY.
- Once dry, remove hairnet and follow instructions on how to put on how to put on your hairpiece. You will
notice that the original style of your hairpiece has come back.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE A HAIR DRYER, CURLING IRON, OR ANY TYPE OF HEATED STYLING TOOLS ON YOUR
SYNTHETIC HAIRPIECE OR WIG. KEEP AWAY FROM ALL SOURCES OF HEAT OR OPEN FLAME.
Be sure to only use styling tools specially made for wigs, such as a wig styling comb, wig brush, or wig pic comb.
CAUTION: Never use heated styling tools on your wig or expose your wig to excess sources of heat such as: hair dryers,
curling irons, open ovens, boiling water, barbecue grills, and even some cigarette lighters, as the heat will damage
the fibers.
